Grinder Job Description

Job Title: Grinder

Summary: The Grinder is responsible for operating grinding equipment to remove excess material, smooth surfaces, and achieve required dimensions and finishes on manufactured parts. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate grinding machines, angle grinders, bench grinders, and related equipment.

• Grind, deburr, polish, and finish metal components and fabricated parts.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.

• Measure parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.

• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.

• Identify and report defects, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow workplace health and safety regulations and wear required PPE.
