Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising workshop staff, including mechanics and technicians
- Support the coordination and allocation of daily job tasks
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed to quality and safety standards
- Monitor job progress and provide updates to management
- Assist in enforcing health and safety regulations within the workshop
- Help manage workshop tools, equipment, and inventory
- Participate in diagnosing mechanical issues and recommending solutions
- Ensure proper documentation of all work performed (job cards, reports, etc.)
- Support in maintaining housekeeping and cleanliness of the workshop
- Attend training sessions and actively develop technical and leadership skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. Mechanical / Automotive) – advantageous
- Basic mechanical knowledge or workshop exposure
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Willingness to learn and grow within a supervisory role
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interest in mechanical/workshop operations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic leadership potential
- Problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good organizational skills
- Team player with a proactive attitude
Experience:
- 1–2 years’ experience in a workshop or mechanical environment (preferred)
- Entry-level candidates with relevant qualifications may be considered
Training & Development:
- On-the-job training under a qualified Workshop Foreman
- Exposure to workshop management systems and processes
- Development in staff supervision, reporting, and operational planning
