Job Description

 

The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating site activities, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and ensuring quality workmanship.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage all daily site activities.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Resolve operational or site-related challenges promptly.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise site employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Allocate tasks and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and regular team briefings.
  • Monitor employee attendance and discipline on-site.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Enforce the use of PPE and safe working practices.
  • Investigate incidents and complete required reports.

Quality Control

  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify defects or rework requirements.
  • Ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain daily site reports and progress updates.
  • Track site expenses, materials, and labour usage.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a site management or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
